Using our DIY custom framing kit which comes with everything you need to frame at home, Seth framed this striking painting from the artist Merrilee Challiss in our all wood, black gallery frame.
To show off the edges of the paper, it was floated on top of a black mat board with an inch of space surrounding the artwork. The black mat combines with the frame to create a dark background that really sets off the bright colors in the painting.

And with the addition of our UV-protective picture framing glaze, the artwork is fully protected from rays that could damage or fade it over time. Each component used in our custom frames is archival and acid-free.

Also taking advantage of the float mounting option available with our at home custom frames, figurative artist Hayley Bowen framed one of her own pieces in the 3/4" soft gold profile that pairs a gold face with a brushed wood side.
As you can see, the print is floating on top of the matting so that the edges and artist signature in the bottom right corner are fully revealed.
Thanks, Hayley, for sharing this beautiful portrait and the final results of the framing!

Photographer Jake Safarty has been making photos since he was 12 years old, and is rarely without a camera. Much of his work is concentrated on travel and photojournalism, as well as portraits deconstructing the human form and traditional ideas about humanness and beauty.
We love this photo of a Koi and dreamlike reflections on the water in Ubud, Bali, and it looks amazing framed and matted.
Note the 1/4" border of white space between the image and the edge of the matting. Usually, the mat will overlap the image, but this intentional mat placement creates a sophisticated look and an extra visual layer to complete the overall look.
Ask us how you can frame a photo with a similar mat border style.

When it takes more than one image to tell a story, a collage picture frame is the way to go. Our collage frames allow you to frame up to five images together, each with its own mat window opening.
Jason Edmiston is a fine artist and illustrator often inspired by the world of pop culture, covering characters and subjects from movies, comic books, toys and retro style advertising. For reasons that are self-explanatory, he paired these two limited-edition prints together and left a margin around the image to reveal the edition numbers and his signature. The final result is an arresting presentation and perfect use of a collage.
We hope you're feeling inspired to custom frame your own artwork or frame a photo, and are standing by to help with any and all of your online custom framing needs.
We can't wait to see the final results!
